"Thirty-seven years ago today, the Roe v. Wade decision legalized the right of American women to abortion."
- My Planned Parenthood newsletter from today.
When we lived in Washington from May 07-May 08, I kept up with Wichita news on kansas.com every other day or so. A few days before the Roe v. Wade anniversary came up there was an article about anti-abortionists protesting Dr. Tiller’s Women’s Health Care Center. I felt bad for the people that worked there having to deal with so much crap from others, so I sent a card to them. I told them I admired their courage and passion and that I would be thinking of them specifically on that day. They sent back a thank you card with all the signatures of the staff, which was really wonderful of them. On this day, I always think of that card, especially this year, because of Dr. Tiller’s death. He went out fighting the good fight.
