Question:Where should I go to look into buying necessary parts to build/upgrade my own computer? I own a tower and things like dvd drives. In fact, what I think was wrong on the computer that failed is nothing more than the power supply, but I could be wrong, not being a computer god. In fact, I'm a total computer loser since the year 2000. I think, though, if I pointed the husband (electrical and computer engineer) in the right direction, he'd have it done in a weekend. He just is too garden obsessed right now to bother finding out where to start. - steph-honey

Whenever I shop for computer parts, I start (and usually finish) at Newegg.com. They have an excellent selection, and I very rarely find better prices anywhere else. For some niche parts, I actually find a better deal occasionally on Amazon.
