• Question: What is your dream job? - inthemeantime
  • Answer:

That’s a hard question. I really love what I’m doing right now - working with lots of small businesses, helping them with their computer problems. I’m basically the entire IT shop for almost a dozen small businesses.

I’ve always been a little conflicted about working with computers, though. Computers have always come easy to me, and I always wanted a career that would be more challenging for me. At different times, I’ve wanted to be an astronaut, a video game designer, a video game industry journalist, a roboticist, an airline pilot, a pharmacist, an actor, a director, a cinematographer, a barista, and a theatre owner. I really would like to do something else, something that I’m not so comfortable with, but I don’t think any of those that are feasible for me to do are feasible financially, and vice versa. (Astronauts make plenty of money, but I’m too tall to ride in the Space Shuttle.)

Right now I dream about opening an independent film house in Wichita. The place I’ve looked at buying and opening forever (Cinemas West) was recently purchased by a church, so the dream has to move, but I will continue to dream!
