• Question: Any word yet from Sprint about whether they are 'enraged' or 'fueled with the anger of a thousand white-hot suns' over Verizon getting the new Palm hardware exclusively? - Anonymous
  • Answer:

No, but frankly, I don’t know why they would be. They had nearly a year of exclusivity with Palm in the US. Chances are, this was something Palm and Sprint discussed even before the launch of the Pre. No popular phone (except the iPhone, for now) stays exclusive forever, nor should it.

Am I a little peeved that a Pre with twice the memory (16GB flash, 512MB RAM) will be out? Sure, a little - I’ve always felt the Pre could use a little more RAM. But that’s the game when it comes to smartphones, and I’ve been more than pleased with the Pre since I’ve had it.

Now, if they were limiting video recording and 3D gameplay to the Pre Plus, THEN I’d be pissed. And, probably, so would Sprint. But as long as Palm continues to support the Pre Classic, I’ll be happy.
